Week Seven has flown by! Check out what we did this week below.
Kindergarten and 1st Graders were MAKERS! We started group work by "drawing" 2-dimensional things as teams with pencils, then we built 3-dimensional things with Legos,
and we even were "chefs" - people who make meals by "making a purple stew" Go Noodle.
Some of the drawings were super fun! They designed a house, me, and my dog! Check them out:
2nd-5th Graders attempted to build a Da Vinci Bridge with just 18 popsicles without any fasteners of any kind! This seemed impossible, but a few tables were on the right track. The concept of the Da Vinci Bridge was that soldiers needed to be able to build and take down a bridge efficiently if they came upon an obstacle, like a creek, and needed to cross. They could then take it back down and move on with their materials until the next obstacle. It was a fun challenge that they really had to think a lot about before building.
If you want to try this at home, here is a "how to" video: https://youtu.be/8sEa3MXXzw8. I did not create this video, but I did successfully make a Da Vinci Bridge.
We were all quite excited! :)
