I fell behind on the blog, but we did NOT fall behind on fun in STEM.
SNOWFLAKES! Students drew many different snowflakes with a certain number of toothpicks and gum drops, and then built them!
Next up, K'NEX! We had a great time creating a snowman trap. We read How to Catch a Snowman, and designed traps. We'd never used these fun tools before, so the students really enjoyed exploring a new building kit.
To segue us into the Olympics, our theme for February, we played games - lots and lots of games. The games I selected are logic games and/or focus on the building and creating mindsets we work on in STEM class. And, games are fun!
