1st through 5th grade has been having a blast saving the poor little spider from the Mummy! We read There was an Old Mummy Who Swallowed a Spider and then created a parachute for the spider to get away from the mummy safely. We discussed gravity and how we need air resistance to work against gravity to keep the spider safe. Try it at home and use a fan to help the spider fly! We didn't have time to go that extra step, but many students asked what would happen.
Kindergarteners had a great time with The Book of Mistakes. We always discuss that learning from our mistakes is how we improve. I asked them to help me fix my mistake, and they blew me away with what creative "fixes" they came up with.
